Tawtheeq registration
All Abu Dhabi tenancy contracts must be registered through the Tawtheeq system. Registration is the landlord’s responsibility, and the certificate is what you will need for utility connections and visa processes.
The contract itself
Check the renewal terms, notice period and who bears maintenance responsibility for what. These three clauses generate the majority of end-of-tenancy disputes.
Deposits
Confirm the deposit amount, the conditions for its return and the timeline. Photograph the property at handover.
